A £2.2m refurbishment project including compliance works, has been successfully completed at Crawley Hospital Theatre Suite. The project has been led by the gbpartnerships Project Team who were appointed on behalf of West Sussex Estates Partnership.
Upon handover both the client, NHS Property Services, and the tenant, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, were extremely pleased with the finished project and the high standard of work produced.
The electrical infrastructure was completely upgraded included a new IPS/UPS back up system. The four theatres had new wall cladding, ceilings and lighting installed and the fire stopping was also upgraded including the installation of fire and smoke dampers on the ventilation system.
This project started as a £500k electrical safety project in the theatres at the hospital but over the duration of the project developed into a £2.2m minor refurbishment of the theatre suite as well as compliance works.
Due to the extremely time sensitive nature of the project for client and the tenant, the gbp team undertook a large part of the design development whilst the work was on site. Morgan Sindall and the design team worked with us to complete the project within the quickest possible timescale given the ever-changing brief.
